Contemporary Scottish Artist – Based in Aberdeen

 

About the Artist:

Wilma Dunbar is a respected Scottish artist known for her abstract and expressive compositions. A graduate of Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, where she later returned as a lecturer in the Drawing and Painting department. 

Her paintings are defined by their dynamic interplay of form, texture and tonal contrast.

 

 

Exhibitions & Recognition:

Wilma’s work has been exhibited extensively across the UK, including at the Society of Scottish Artists (SSA) Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW), Visual Arts Scotland (VAS) and Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) annual shows in Edinburgh, as well as the Royal Glasgow Institute (RGI) annual and Christmas exhibitions.

She has been the recipient of many prestigious awards, including The Mobil Prize at Aberdeen Art Gallery and The Robert Gordon Purchase Awards.

Her work is included in several public collections, such as The Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh, The Wood Group, Sub Sea Oil Co., Robert Gordon University Art & Heritage Collections, Aberdeen, and The East Midlothian Art Trust
