As the days draw shorter and the air sharpens with winter's edge, Hygge invites us to pause - to seek warmth, connection, and quiet beauty in life's small, glowing moments.

This exhibition gathers a collection of contemporary Scottish landscapes, still life, smoke-fired ceramics and artisan jewellery that together embody the spirit of comfort and contemplation. 

 

Each work offers its own interpretation of hygge: a luminous landscape capturing the hush of a frost-lit morning; the intimate stillness of objects arranged in soft light; moments of reflection or companionship; and ceramics whose tactile surfaces speak of fire, hand, and hearth.

In dialogue, these pieces evoke a sense of belonging — to place, to season, and to one another. They remind us that art, like hygge, is both a refuge and a celebration: a way to gather warmth amid winter's chill and to find serenity in simplicity.
