We are delighted to present Stuart Buchanan’s first solo exhibition at Eion Stewart Fine Art, bringing together a year-long body of paintings made en plein air in Catterline.

With a personal connection to the village stretching back to childhood, Stuart has painted from the Watchie studio, looking towards the South Row cottages and the sea beyond. Across changing seasons, weather and light, the familiar view is continually transformed, each painting capturing a particular moment in time.

This exhibition offers an intimate and atmospheric portrait of Catterline, seen through Stuart's own experience of a place with an extraordinary artistic history.

Alongside, we have a beautiful selection of landscape inspired ceramic vessels by Angus-based artist Jennifer Alford as the perfect complement.
