Jackie graduated in Glasgow with a 1st class honours Degree in Contemporary Art Practice.
She spent many years as a children’s book illustrator before involving herself with Art in Healthcare and Alzheimer Scotland.
It is from this period in her life she takes much of her inspiration for her art, incorporating snippets of her own memories and experiences in her paintings in the form of lines of poetry, textures, butterflies and birds (representing herself and fleeting memories and friends).
She works predominantly in acrylics, building up layers, alternating paint with glaze, rubbing back to reveal previous layers, adding texture by imprinting delicate textiles in gesso and modelling paste and collage.
Jackie’s work is sold in galleries throughout Scotland, selling to private collectors worldwide.
