Liz Myhill RSW SWLA is a Scottish artist whose observational works are gathered through working 'en plein air' directly from life. A deep-rooted connection to her native Isle of Skye and the rugged landscape of the Highlands and Islands continues to shape her work, providing a wealth of inspiration.
The act of walking, watching and recording, whether fleeting or through lengthy study, allows Liz to forge a connection with her subjects and evoke a sense of places and encounters.
Virtually all of Liz’s work is completed entirely outside on location, with the exception of printmaking. The weather and spontaneous nature of working outside help shape her work.
Pursuit of creative development and a sense of adventure have led to a number of expeditions on artist residencies and study trips which continue to inform ongoing practice. These have led Liz as far afield as India, Cuba and South America.

Liz studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee and has since exhibited her work throughout the UK and beyond, regularly showing with societies such as the Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour and Society of Wildlife Artists. She has received a number of awards.
