Andy Cross

Andy Cross Graduated from Glasgow School of Art in Jewellery and Silversmithing, 1971-75. 

In 1985 he decided to concentrate on painting while also pursuing a career in teaching Art and Design in Lanarkshire and Glasgow. 


Andy paints mainly Landscapes and Still Life in oils and acrylic, with an emphasis on colour, texture and simplification of shape and space, while concerning himself in creating atmosphere rather than a photographic representation.


He has exhibited throughout Scotland, being selected for solo, two person and group shows having his work regularly accepted for the RSW (Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour), RGI (Royal Glasgow Institute), 

PAI (Paisley Art Institute) and SSA (Scottish Society of Artists) Annual exhibitions. 


Andy’s work is held in many significant private and Public collections including The Bank of Scotland, The Athol Trust, East Kilbride Development Corporation and Baring’s Investment Group.
